You finally decided to get your pile of junk hauled away, but as you look at junk removal services you might find yourself unsure of how much junk you actually have. There are four different sizes of junk load sizes: Single Items, ¼ Load, ½ Load, Full Load.
A single item load is, well, a single item. These are large items that are able to stand by themselves but is probably too large for you to remove it yourself. So, if you find yourself dumbstruck and not knowing what to do with your old fridge or that lumpy couch, it will count as a single item load size. Some other items that could qualify for single item removal are: Mattress, television, treadmill, or a dresser.
A ¼ load junk size is approximately 3 feet long by 8 feet wide by 5 feet tall, and usually is comprised of a few larger items. This sized load is about equal to what fits in the back of a standard pickup truck. Some items that are commonly paired are couches +chair + coffee table, refrigerator + microwave + dishwater + stove, or sometimes larger items will take up the entire load. A sectional sofa is big enough to take up the entirety of a ¼ load size because of how big it is.
A ½ load junk size is approximately 6 feet long by 8 feet wide by 5 feet tall which is about 240 cubic feet of junk that you want to get rid of. This amount of stuff is definitely more than the back of the standard pickup truck. This can amount to combinations like 10-12 garbage bags + wrapping paper + cardboard boxes, two desks + two chairs + two filing cabinets + small accessories, or perhaps a patio set + plastic outdoor storage chest + shed items.
A full load junk size is about 12 feet long by 8 feet long by 5 feet tall. The entire back of a junk truck will be taken up by this load. So, this is the perfect size if you decide to renovate your house and haul out old furniture!
